State Championships 2005

Photos from Sunday's racing.

After a dreary start on Sunday morning, race 5 started with a freshening sea breeze.
Some boats were caught out by the current, and the PRO handed out several OCS
rulings for boats over the line.

Races 5 & 6 saw plenty of close competition, with a course change for each race
keeping crews alert.

Mark rounding were good to watch, & calls between boats were many ( and varied).

Duncan & Alison seemed to be enjoying their Sunday sail.

The final race got under way with another messy start...

... but the fleet looked great as they headed off.

Kamikaze leads Cicada IV to the mark.

Pukeko, Fizz, Dual Force and The Edge prepare for a tight rounding.

Killiecrankie, All Fired Up & Odysseus, with the Batman Bridge
providing an interesting background.

Cicada IV gets around, with a bunch of challengers on her tail.

Foxy Lady III shows the others a clean pair of heels. But it was a hollow victory,
as the boat was ruled OCS at the start.

The series concluded in breezey, sunny conditiions.
The perfect antidote for some tedious sailing in earlier races.
