MINUTES OF IMCAT MEETING

HELD ON 06/09/04 at 6 Carinya St, Blackmans Bay

Present : Jenny Graney, Grant Atherton, Daniel Pullen, John Sherriff, John Behrens, Quentin Hunt, Greg Pullen,

Payment for website software and anti spam/anti virus program made to the Pullens. Cheque Book has still not arrived. Cheques were sent out by the bank with our account details and balance. John Behrens has discussed with bank.

Photographic Competition Andrew Roberts reported he will have the posters ready for distribution round the clubs by Opening Day. Jenny has contacted the Joyce family re getting an original print. Further entry from Graeme Moore.

Grant has received no reply to email re permission to use article or mistakes from Australian Sailing

Class Promotion Jenny has sent a letter to David Short cc to Scott Price and Tony Nicholas re 30 th January for Sabot helms to race a Mirror. No reply. We need to target Optimists at KBSC.

Quentin suggested a series for the following season at DSS/RYCT.

We need to have our website address on everything. Daniel to put it on his mainsail.

We have agreement from the Wooden Boat Festival to have a race/event on the Saturday morning off Kings Pier. We will have publicity in the program and a PA System. We need to provide a commentator. Greg to be liason person. John Penman’s boat might be a good one for the display on shore.

Rudder Presentation board for the club holding the MacIntyre Cup (Perpetual) to be made by John Sherriff. We have had no response from the website as to the missing one.

Having a co-ordinated approach to a National Mirror Polo Top to be suggested to National Assn/Vic Bateman. Suggested that logo (Mirror M?) be adopted and each state could have a different colour for wearing to Nationals etc. The same logo could be used for the top at the Nationals with the addition of the art work.

Scouts promo with some sailing soon after to be in October?????

Toll photo presentation to be made at the Toll office and photo to be given to the Mercury.

Training needs to be tackled by each club with a focus on improving the back and middle of the fleet, to improve the top as well through better competition. The MacIntyre Cup to be used to determine if a combined training event with a suitable high profile coach can be organised.

A Newsletter was sent to all known Mirror owners by email and snail mail as appropriate.

Email correspondance from Daniel re a proposed change to the Mirror rig (from UK). Proposed change includes an aluminium boom and Bermudan rig. For details follow links on the website. Members to be advised and asked for comment.
