Sabot Helm series was a great success with varying weather giving the Sabot helmsmen a good taste of the class. Those boats with experienced forward hands had a big advantage, and we should probably address this next time.

General Business

Following success of Sabot Helm Challenge, we could look at a Tasmanian Legends series along the same lines, where we supply boats and crews. We may have to look at evening out the weight in each boat. We could also try and get Boags on board for some sponsorship and get some TV coverage. Suggested invitees:

Nick Rogers, David Graney, Mark Barrington, Mich Ranson, Mark Padgett, Steve McElwee, Duncan McGlashan, Andrew Joyce, John Penman, Norm Deane, George Fish.

Greg Brooks from Dinghy Group suggested we might like to have a combined Pennant (KBSC and Montrose) at DSS.

Yachting Tasmania Yardstick regatta needs to have more advanced notice on venue and date. Weekend event was too much for some people.

Meeting closed 9pm

Next meeting 7 th March 2005, 7.30pm, at 6 Carinya St.
