 MINUTES OF IMCAT MEETING

HELD ON 06/12/04 AT 6 Carinya St, Blackmans Bay

Present :   Grant Atherton (late), Jenny Graney , John Sherriff, Greg Pullen, Andrew Roberts, Mark Barrington( late), John Behrens.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Photographic Competition was officially won by John/Andrew Joyce’s entry, although the person who took the photo was not known. Jenny to contact John, who had previously indicated he would donate the prize money back to IMCAT. Jenny to also write a letter of thanks to Gavin Rigby for use of his photo for Tasmanian Yachtman

Greg to organise publicity for Australian Sailing (Perhaps a letter to the editor re the wrong class information printed)

Class Promotion ..

The Website looks great especially photos and commentary on MacIntyre Cup.

Greg has sent article and photos to Huon News and On Board eNews.

Lettering for website address in sticky back on Daniel’s mainsail looks great. John Behrens has organised some lettering for booms.(red and black?)

The Promotion Board to be worked on by Andrew Roberts and Greg Pullen, with a combination of photos, testimonials etc.

Wooden Boat Festival.  

Jenny to check with RHR Assn to see where and what time we can rig up (rowing may be a problem) and organise entry forms.

Greg to do commentary. John Sherriff to assist.. Andrew to contact Norm re use of his boat for display.

Mark Barrington to organise plan for varying weather conditions and be on water captain.

Greg to get handheld radio from KBSC. John Behrens to organise flyers.

Jenny to send letters of confirmation to KBSC and Wooden Boat Festival.

MacIntyre Cup board to be presented to MBYC. Letter of thanks to be sent to MBYC with cheque for $150.

Jenny had contacted Vic Bateman re what IMCAT had been doing promotion wise and asked for his ideas re a National polo top with state variations. To be followed up further.

Toll photo presentation photo was in the Mercury. As only Tas boat going to WA, Mark B. is trailering his boat. Toll is doing a metal sign for KBSC.

Correspondence

From Greg Pullen: re encouraging Junior participation through more favourable handicapping. The meeting agreed to be more pro-active in handicapping younger crews.

General Business

Greg suggested members of IMCAT get something extra eg cap.

John Sherriff reported that Trading Post had a Mirror for sale.

Sabot Helm event being co-ordinated by Grant Atherton. A de-briefing with presentation after the event. Tim Gourlay to be invited to present.

A TV to be accessed to show photos taken during the morning at the presentaion.

John Behrens to talk to Ross Lilley re getting some goods donated by Ronstan of Gill for the State Championships. Roger Orr’s shack/grounds available for accomodation.

Apparently the Internation Cadets accessed some non championship class funding from Yachting Australia. Jenny to investigate.

Next meeting   First Monday in February 2005, 7.30pm, at 6 Carinya St.
