Business Arising: Action
Class Promotion ..
John Behrens will have boom lettering featuring website address soon
The Promotion Board. It was decided that permanent robust boards were the way to go, and that damage was most likely during transport. We would look at a life of around four years before they would start to look dated. The website address would be prominent. We would have three or four(depending on NW Coast) boards done, for each of the “Mirror Clubs”. Each board would have a brochure bracket.
The main photo to be a mass of boats. Other photos and grabs to target Parent/Child, 2 teens, Beginner adult.
Cost per extra board around $125? |

General Business
Tasmanian Sailing Academy Meeting. Grant attended on behalf of the Assn. Initially all good, enthusiastic sailors, youth and senior, will be welcome to try out for this group. Those who show talent will be encouraged into the recommended classes. Training by Mike Fletcher once a month for the first three months, over Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. The first session will be the last weekend in August.
Grant felt that the publicity after the meeting sounded like it was only for youth and sent a letter to Murray Jones in this regard.
Jenny felt that we probably didn’t have anyone in the category for applying to join the Academy. At this stage we need to concentrate on training for the new and less experienced Mirror sailors to keep them enthused and show others looking at the class that we offer this service. This is down to the individual clubs.
Andrew is helping at Montrose. Quentin, Jenny and Grant will go on a roster at Kingston.
Mirror Booklet.
Should be ready this week.
Next meeting Monday 12 September, 7.30pm, at 6 Carinya St.
