The Cadets won. Promotion of the Mirror Class: Sabot Helm Challenge at DSS 30 th January was very successful (see President’s Report). KBSC and Montrose BYC each travelled to each others club for two combinedPennant Races. Unfortunately MBYC was blown out. KBSC was also a shocking day. It was considered worth doing again. Promotional Board is still progressing. Wooden Boat Show ended up being a land based display only apart from Daniel Pullen’s presence in Constitution Dock. Only one boat (Mark Barrington and Will Maher) contested the Nationals in WA. They finished in 3 rd place. Club Representatives: Deviot SC: Roger Orr MBYC: Andrew Roberts KBSC: Quentin Hunt General Business: The meeting discussed holding the State Championships at a venue away from the usual clubs eg Orford. As this would mean transfer of rescue boats and other equipment, it was concluded it would be too hard. There was some discussion on the time for the State Championships. It was felt by the meeting that having it NOT on the March Long Weekend was a good idea as it enabled Sabot sailors to take the helm. It was suggested that having a weekend between the Sabots and Mirrors would be better from a logistics point of view. (Travelling two weekend running was a big ask for families) It was also felt that prior to the Long Weekend would be better from a wind point of view. Montrose to be asked to hold the State Championships. Deviot to be asked to hold the MacIntyre Cup. (First Weekend in December) Further Promotion: Tasmanian Legends. It was decided we try and get a Tasmanian legends (famous Mirror helms) Series going, probably at the end of January at DSS, in a similar style to the top Sabot helm series – perhaps on the same day. Meeting closed.
