What ever option you choose, we recommended that you do not leave booking for too long. With the peak tourist season and other events that occur at this time of year, we would not want anyone to experience the disappointment of not been able to get here on time. The first option if you a driving with your boat(s), is to catch The Spirit of Tasmania from Melbourne to Devonport. Once you have arrived in Devonport, the drive to Hobart is approximately 280 Km, taking about 3 hours. Many Tasmanian Mirror sailors can attest that with a well planned road trip to get to the nationals, half the fun is getting there. Especially when travelling in convoy of fellow sailors from your state! Some competitors may be exploring the option of packing their boats in shipping containers, and shipping their boats to Hobart. If you are considering this option, it is suggested that you get in touch with us so that arrangements can be made for a suitable location to drop the containers off once they arrive in Hobart
By Air The second option is to fly in. Jetstar, Qantas and Virgin Blue offer flights to Hobart from all Capitals and some regional areas. Hobart Airport is located about 25 Km from the Hobart CBD. The drive from Hobart Airport to the Montrose Bay Yacht Club takes approximately 30 minutes. Any problems with this site ?
